A true antique stereoscope, which is a device invented in 1832 by Sir Charles Wheatstone, as a way to view two converged images through a stereo window in 3D! This particular one comes with a set of historical photograph 3D viewing cards, one of which has an info blurb about the gallery the original photograph is from printed on the back. This cool item is the predecessor to the View-Masters we had as kids in the modern day! This is the early 1800’s version of virtual reality… How cool!
